The main difference of the XVT473SV vs XVT472SV is the better contrast ratio of the XVT473SV. As already mentioned before, it has 10,000,000:1 while the 2SV only has 2,000,000:1, a notable difference since the image looks simply brigther and sharper on the 3SV. The 2SV has 4 HMDI ports, alot, but the 3SV has one more and most importantly supports HDMI 1. 3 with a 1.4a with audio return channel, so you do not need an additional digital audio cable like for the 2SV. The refresh rate of 240Hz, the Internet Apps as well as all the other features are the same on both of them. The XVT472SV is harder to get, only few merchants sell it, there is a much bigger choice in where to order for the XVT473SV. It once more boils doen to the price, which is very similar on both of them. We recommend buying the XVT473SV, improved image quality and slighly better connectivity means simply a little more value for your money.

Both HDTVs, the XVT473SV and SV472XVT were released in early 2010, but there are pretty big differences. Thanks to the increased number of LEDs in the XVT473SV, the color accuracy is higher and the dimming works is more exact. Additionally, the 3SV has an impressive contrast ratio of 10,000,000:1 compared to only 2,000,000:1 on the little brother 2XVT. 2M still means a great picture, but the difference to 10M is clearly visible. Both have a 1080p resolution, 240Hz refresh rate, Smart Dimming, Wi-Fi and the Vizio Internet Apps, the connectivity of the 3SV is slightly better with one more HDMI port and 2 more USB. The price for both of them is amost the same, minimal difference depending on the retailer, but overall you get a better HDTV at the same price when picking the XVT473SV.
